Norms, interoperability on an international level

A daily concern

It seems essential for a software publisher specialized in heritage collection management to move closer to international expectations, to integrate standards and norms, to allow better communication between museums around the world...

The norms constitute an essential phase for management and the exchange of information in this precise sector of museums, libraries, archives, heritage and cultural institutions as a whole. This is particularly true for web portals that unite heritage and cultural contents, but also for cultural institutions that want to implement deep linking and metasearch engines between the different bases: objects from museums, libraries, archives, media... Since the creation of the SKINsoft project, these themes are the basis of the research and development policy which is carried out in our laboratory.

SKINsoft is quickly integrating into the small circle of international software publishers specialized in heritage collection management. As young producers, our expertise is current: on a technical level, with new computer technology; on an industry level, taking into account new needs of cultural institutions, in regards to conservation and communication.

Since 2010, the SKINmuseum application is validated by the "Service des Musées de France" (Museum Services of France), and it is now "SPECTRUM compliant." SKINsoft shares its experiences with the world's top publishers as a part of the EUROPEANA inside project. All of these aspects, coupled with SKINsoft's technological bias, make our applications the solutions of the future.
